The Egg is a student-led startup looking to create a way for students to accelerate their startup careers.
It is becoming more evident that Gen-Z students are becoming more attracted to the idea of working in startups after college. I mean, why wouldn't ambitious, empowered kids of our generation want to work on fast-paced teams trying to solve meaningful problems? For those who see startup life as a promising career path, it makes perfect sense.
Despite the growing demographic of students looking to succeed in startups, there is no apparent and effective way to develop the necessary skills, connections, and experience to thrive building companies right out of college. Students who want to go into finance know to apply to internships at Goldman, Morgan Stanley, and more. Students who want to go into big-tech will apply to internships at FAANG companies. The same thing applies to careers in consulting, law, education, and more. There exists no pre-professional pipeline for students who want to be entrepreneurs. What experiences, skills, and connections do students like us need to be impactful members of startup teams?
The Egg is building the first pre-professional pipeline for students who want to work in startups. We work with ambitious students looking to solve hard problems for a living and connect them with internship opportunities at innovative startups that can provide them the proper introductions, mentorship, and real-world experience to develop as entrepreneurs.
The Egg is built by students, for students. Breaking into the startup world can be an intimidating journey. How do you navigate funding, launching, product-market fit, growth, MVPs, and more? The best way to approach this journey is with the support of like-minded individuals who can give you advice, encouragement, and critiques. Our community is an opportunity for student-entrepreneurs to voice their challenges, goals, and pains so together we can build a solution.
The Egg Community is a low-commitment digital space for digital conversation, networking, and fun! The majority of the platform will be asynchronous discussion via our digital community page; however, there will be frequent speakers, workshops, and more live events on Zoom. We've curated a group of hyper-ambitious, startup-oriented students. This will be an incredible opportunity to meet like-minded students and build meaningful relationships.
